DESCRIPTION:Meet @ 1617 Prairie Lane \nRequired Loops being covered \nHowl @ the moon \nRequirement: Howling at the Moon p. 69 \n6:00 pm – Meet at Isaiah’s House and sign in\n6:05 pm – Opening Flag\n6:15 pm – Discuss Howling at the Moon (p. 69)\n1. For many years\, people believed that wolves howl at the moon. Wolves actually howl to communicate with one another. For example\, a wolf might howl to mean\, “I want to meet up with the pack” or “Here’s where I am”. During this adventure\, you will get a chance to do your own howling. You will show you can communicate in different ways\, create and perform a skit\, and help put on a campfire Wolf show.\n2. 4 different ways to communicate:\na. verbal communication is when you use your voice to communicate\, like talking or signing\nb. non-verbal communication uses facial expression\, body language\, and motions to communicate without words\nc. written communication is people writing letters\, emails\, books\, magazines\, and newspapers\nd. visual communication includes graphs\, charts\, maps\, photographs\, art\, and pictures to tell a story\n3. Do the Scout Motto in Sign Language \n6:30 pm – Obstacle Course with buddies\n1. Have scouts complete obstacle course with a buddy using only verbal communication.\n2. Have scouts complete obstacle course with a buddy using only non-verbal communication. A scout is helpful and trustworthy.\n3. Discuss:\na. “What did it feel like to close your eyes not knowing where you were going?”\nb. “How did you feel when you had to be the ‘eyes’ of your buddy?”\n7:00 pm – Snack\n7:00 pm – Divide into 2 groups and write a Wolf Den Skit and practice\n(page 59 and Pinterest for skit ideas)\n7:30 pm – Campfire Program:\n1. Opening : Scout to recite the Scout Motto in Sign Language\n2. Song : Apples and Bananas?\n3. Skits : Perform skits for each other\n4. Story : Scout leader will read a minute story\n5. Closing : Scouts each share their favorite thing about being a scout\n6. End with a group howl\n7:50 pm – Closing Flags\n8:00 pm – Go home!
