Richfield Cub Scout Pack 157 Newsletter – August 2023

Hello Scout Families!!!

We hope everyone has been having a GREAT summer!

We have been planning for our next event, The Richfield Days Parade!

Again this year we will be entering a float into the parade. Let’s see if we can win 1st place again this year!!

This year’s float will feature Cub Scout Popcorn! We will have some large popcorn boxes along with all those popcorn tins you’ve donated!

All of the Webelos 2’s will be riding on the float. A couple of Webelos 1’s will be carrying the NEW Pack Banner.

All other dens are to be walking along side the float and tossing out popcorn and wristbands!

This will be a FUN event where we can show off our Pack to all of Richfield!

JOIN OUR COMMITTEE!

We are always looking for volunteers to help us coordinate and put on the Pack events. Without our Parent Volunteers/Parent Committee Members, our Pack would not have as great of a program as we have. We are looking for a COMMITTEE CHAIR, FUNDRAISER CHAIR & ADDITIONAL PARENT COMMITTEE MEMBERS. Our Parent Committee meets once a month after an event to discuss past events and plan future events. We have a GREAT group of people that truly care about making every Scout’s experience a great one!! If you are interested in volunteering to help with an event or becoming a part of our Parent Committee, please reach out to ANY leader for more information.

TO THOSE SCOUTS THAT ARE WALKING IN THE PARADE ON SUNDAY….
WEBELOS II DEN @ LA CABANA / BMO HARRIS PARKING LOT: 
PLEASE MEET THE CUBMASTER JIM AT THE BMO HARRIS PARKING LOT @ 930AM.
We will be putting the finishing touches on the float and waiting there until the parade starts.
TIGERS, WOLVES, BEARS & WEBELOS I DENS:
PLEASE MEET DEN LEADERS AT RICHFIELD MIDDLE SCHOOL PARKING LOT @ 930AM.
When our float approaches the roundabout by RICHFIELD MIDDLE SCHOOL, all scouts will be directed to gather around the float and walk the parade.
  1. SCOUTS NEED TO BE IN ‘CLASS A’ UNIFORMS.
  2. IF YOU ARE GOING TO WEAR A HAT, IT NEEDS TO BE A SCOUT APPROVED HAT.
  3. PLEASE BRING A WATER BOTTLE.
  4. PLEASE APPLY SUNSCREEN PRIOR TO COMING TO THE PARADE.
  5. PLAN FOR THE WEATHER! IT ALMOST ALWAYS RAINS!! A PONCHO OR UMBRELLA WOULD BE IDEAL.
ALL PARENTS, WE WILL BE HOLDING THE SCOUTS AT THE PLAYGROUND AT FIREMAN’S FIELD. (THIS IS WHERE THE PARADE ENDS)
PLEASE COME PICK UP YOUR SCOUT ABOUT 30-60 MINUTES AFTER THE PARADE ENDS.
NO SCOUT WILL BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE PLAYGROUND UNTIL THEIR PARENTS ARRIVE AND THEY HAVE BEEN CHECKED OFF THE LIST.

PLEASE SEE YOUR DEN LEADER, JIM OR PAUL BEFORE LEAVING WITH YOUR CHILD, SO WE CAN KEEP COUNT.
